Back in 2020, Ryan Roslansky, LinkedIn's then global head of product, replaced Jeff Weiner as CEO of LinkedIn. As CEO of LinkedIn, Ryan directly reports to Microsoft CEO and Chairman Satya Nadella.
According to CNBC, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella informed employees about a minor reorganization via an email today. As part of this reorganization, LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky will get some additional responsibility. In addition to being the CEO of LinkedIn, Ryan will now oversee Microsoft’s Office products, which include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and others.
As part of this additional responsibility, Ryan will report to Rajesh Jha, Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Experiences + Devices (E+D) division, who works directly for Satya Nadella. As LinkedIn CEO, Ryan will continue to report to Satya Nadella as before.
Another big change as part of this new reorg is that Charles Lamanna, Corporate Vice President of the Business & Industry Copilot team, which includes Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and Copilot Studio, will now report to Rajesh Jha. Previously, he was reporting to Scott Guthrie under Microsoft’s Cloud + AI division.
These changes also appear to sharpen the focus of Cloud + AI division primarily on Azure and foundational AI technologies. Scott Guthrie’s group will now only include Azure, Microsoft’s cloud computing platform, generative AI solutions, and data platforms (SQL Server, etc.). But all of Microsoft’s productivity and business applications are now under a single group headed by Rajesh Jha, which may result in better integration among products and services.
According to people inside Microsoft, the above mentioned reorg changes are not directly linked to the company's recent job cuts, Geekwire reported today.
